Dr. Dax Varkey is featured in See It To Be It, an initiative started at
UNC Greensboro that creates and disseminates informational web-
based videos about high social mobility career paths to middle and
high school students in Guilford County, North Carolina.
Ray Davis and Mark White, who both work as Murphy Wainer outreach
athletic trainers at Southeast Guilford
High School, were awarded the Mid-
Atlantic Athletic Trainers Association 2020
Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer Award.

Murphy Wainer athletic trainer Lindsey Braddock was honored by pro
football’s 101 Awards and by the N.C. Athletic Trainers’ Association for

Lindsey Braddock, who works on the Page High School
campus as an outreach employee of Murphy Wainer
Orthopedic Specialists, and assistant coach Chuck
Mardis were recognized at a Guilford County Board of
Education meeting for their efforts to save the life of
18-year-old Taevone Johnson who collapsed during
football practice.

Patty Isley, a longtime employee of Murphy Wainer Orthopedic
Specialists, was recently selected as North Carolina’s Athletic Trainer
of the Year by the North Carolina Athletic Directors Association. The
award recognizes a member of the North Carolina
Athletic Trainers’ Association who has demonstrated an
“exceptional commitment to leadership, volunteer
service, advocacy, and distinguished professional
service.” As part of her job duties at Murphy Wainer,
Patty serves as the athletic trainer for Rockingham
County High School – a position she has held for 20
years.

Best Doctors in America® List, as voted upon by their peers in polling
conducted by the Boston-based Best Doctors, Inc. They were
recognized for their achievement in this ad, which
appeared in the April issue of Our State magazine.
Only the top 4 percent of physicians in the U.S. are
chosen as Best Doctors. Physicians cannot pay to be
on this list. It’s the tenth time Dr. Murphy has
received this honor and the fifth time for Dr. Wainer.

New in Orthopedics.” In this interview, Dr. Varkey talked about
innovations that are improving patient options for correcting

Orthopedic surgeon Dax Varkey joined the team of physicians at

When basketball star Marcus Paige experienced hip pain while
playing for the Greensboro Swarm recently, Dr. James Kramer of
Murphy Wainer Orthopedic Specialists helped
him alleviate the pain and stay in the game.

the team physician for Dudley High School, Dr.
James Kramer will be inducted into the James
B. Dudley Sports and Education Hall of
Fame/Hall of Distinction on October 5th, 2013.
The induction ceremony dinner also serves as a
fundraiser for the Dudley HOF/HOD scholarship
program.
